sharedset: Marketplace for Shoot Assets

sharedset starts from a concrete opportunity: turning the hands-on rental of vehicles, bikes, props, and scene assets for audiovisual productions into a searchable, traceable digital flow ready to grow.

The challenge was to go beyond a landing page or static catalog. The platform had to show realistic inventory, support search and bookings, separate owner and renter roles, and prepare sensitive pieces such as payments, deposits, insurance, and operational validation.

We built a React/Vite application with an Express API and PostgreSQL, packaged for production as a full-stack Node service. The frontend includes an asset catalog, listing detail, availability, quote flow, chat, and account areas for renters and owners.

The backend includes JWT authentication, a PostgreSQL repository, and endpoints for catalog, bookings, conversations, claims, and metadata. Stripe Connect, PaymentIntent, and webhook integration were also prepared so the payment model can evolve without rewriting the product.

The delivery included product documentation, API contract, payment and insurance model, environment validation, Dockerfile, Compose, healthcheck, CSP/CORS, and production preflight for deploying sharedset.com on a clear operational base.

sharedset is published at sharedset.com as a functional marketplace with demo catalog, booking flows, owner dashboard, messaging, operation documents, and an architecture ready to connect real services.

The project validates the product core: searching assets, comparing them, requesting availability, managing listings, and treating rentals as an operation with statuses, risk, and traceability.

The technical base can keep moving toward owner onboarding, asset verification, real payments, insurance, and operational automation without starting again from scratch.
