VPD: From Corporate Website to Technical B2B Platform

Transition from the old Vacuum & Precision Devices website to a technical platform with catalog, quote requests, customers, and administration.

Challenge

The old VPD, currently deployed at vacuumprecisiondevices.com, works as a corporate website: it presents the company, its expertise in vacuum technology and precision devices, the engineering team, the prototype workshop, and contact channels.

The new objective was to go beyond an informational presence without breaking what was already published. VPD needed to turn that technical authority into an operating system: multilingual catalog, categorized products, quote requests, customers, technical blog, and internal administration.

Approach

We planned a parallel transition: keep vacuumprecisiondevices.com as the visible website while the new platform is validated at vpd.serviciosegado.com. This avoids interrupting the current domain and lets the team review content, products, and commercial flows before the final switch.

The new VPD was built as a complete application with a React/Vite frontend and NestJS API: technical catalog, quote-request cart, customer accounts, admin panel, product management, providers, Excel import/export, and blog posts.

The migration keeps the essence of the old site — technical trust, engineering, vacuum technology, and expert contact — but turns it into a transactional tool ready for daily operations.

Result

VPD now has a new platform at vpd.serviciosegado.com that can be tested and adjusted without shutting down the current vacuumprecisiondevices.com website.

Once the catalog, translations, and internal processes are validated, the domain transition can happen with lower risk: move traffic, redirect key routes, and preserve brand continuity.

The outcome is not just a visual redesign. It is the move from a corporate website to a B2B system able to manage demand, product data, providers, and technical content from its own foundation.
